1. Unfortunately, Rachmaninoff failed to copyright the famous "Prelude in C-Sharp Minor," and when he sold it, he received nothing for it.
2. Toward the end of his life, the composer and pianist Sergei Rachmaninov became ill in the middle of a concert tour and was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles. When cancer was diagnosed, Rachmaninov looked at his hands and murmured: "My dear hands... Farewell, my poor hands."
3. When Tchaikowsky died 1893, in his honour, Rachmaninoff played the "Prelude in C-Sharp Minor".
